The Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting accountability, ethics, and transparency in government and civic arenas. We regularly investigate many different ethics and legal issues both at the state and federal level.
One common situation that we investigate is government employees using state or federal resources for campaign or political purposes.
Recently, FACT submitted a public records request (federally known as a Freedom of Information Act request) with the state of Maryland and the Governor's office seeking communications between state employees.
